Chad Matson is the Owner Operator and Head Honcho of Imperial Auto Spa, bringing more than 10 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry. His career has been built around automotive craftsmanship, vehicle protection, and customer education, with experience spanning professional detailing, automotive audio and visual installation, dealership operations, accessory installation, sales, and specialty automotive services. Chad began detailing at the age of 18 and developed his expertise through years of working in Las Vegas, including involvement with the SEMA Show. Since graduating high school, he has dedicated his career to nearly every aspect of the automotive industry, combining technical skill with a passion for vehicle care.
Chad specializes in paint correction, ceramic coatings, paint protection solutions, and advanced automotive detailing services. In 2019, he opened the first ceramic coating and paint correction-focused detail shop in Missoula, Montana, helping introduce the local community to modern vehicle protection technologies and educating customers about the benefits of coatings and preservation services. His professional training includes certifications from Detailwise Academy, Rupes Paint Correction training, Stek PPF training, and Advanced PPF training through Opticle. Chad also earned the rank of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America, reflecting a long-standing commitment to discipline, leadership, and service.
Chad’s passion for automotive work started at a young age through experiences shared with his father and older brother at car shows, where he developed an appreciation for automotive history and craftsmanship. Before building Imperial Auto Spa, Chad balanced a full-time dealership parts department career while spending another four to six hours each evening performing paint corrections and Plasti Dip projects from his garage. That dedication helped shape his philosophy that quality workmanship, continuous learning, and strong leadership create lasting results. Chad believes leadership starts from the top, and his team reflects the same work ethic and commitment he brings to every project.
Beyond his professional work, Chad values staying connected with his community and maintaining an active lifestyle. He has earned trust through years of serving customers and building Imperial Auto Spa’s reputation, with nearly seven years of business operations since opening in July 2019 and a strong focus on customer feedback through Google reviews. Outside of the shop, Chad enjoys motorcycle riding and regularly takes long-distance rides ranging from 100 to 1,500 miles during summer trips.
